FRACTAL GENERATORS 6:7

|
Quintessential Sophistry Flame Fractals ~ Win9x/Me ~ 170 Kb |
author: Michael Sargent
Home page: http://www.uvm.edu/~msargent/main.htm
Flame will generate attractors that models those created by Scott Draves with KTP5 FraxFlame, which he describes as “cosmic recursive fractal flames.” It is intended to use 24 or 32 bit true color graphics modes. It will render images in up to 1600 x 1200 resolution, and save them as GIF or TARGA files. The parameter sets can also be saved as 811-byte PRM files to allow re-rendering of the images, but not the color map information (so take notes). Flame uses FractInt compatible MAP files to color its images.

Quintessential Sophistry SymXaos ~ Win9x/Me ~ 136 Kb |
author: Michael Sargent
Home page: http://www.uvm.edu/~msargent/main.htm
SymXaos will also generate attractors similar to those described by Michael Field and Martin Golubitsky in SYMMETRY IN CHAOS (Oxford University Press, 1992). It is intended to use 24 or 32 bit true color graphics modes. It will render images in up to 1600 x 1200 resolution, and save them as GIF files that contain the parameter files as with FractInt. It also uses FractInt compatible MAP files to color its
images.

Quintessential Sophistry Win95 Fractals ~ Win9x/Me ~ 353 Kb |
author: Michael Sargent
Home page: http://www.uvm.edu/~msargent/main.htm
Good fractal generator that can also work in 256 color mode. If a 24-bit display is available, images can be saved in true color. Image's aspect ratios can be easily alter, so take care.

Raimuraito ~ v1.7 ~ Win9x/Me ~ 1.29 Mb |
author: Yasuo Kamei
Home page: http://www.ab.cyberhome.ne.jp/~raimuraito/
Raimuraito is a new fractal generator that can produce some very unique and interesting pictures. It's still in its very early stages of development (so it has a few bugs and is quite slow), but judging by what it can already do (using flowers, fishes, rings and other methods to contour the fractal figures), there's a lot to be expected once it reaches maturity. Certainly, one generator to keep an eye on.

Root-IFS ~ v0.006 ~ Win9x/Me/NT ~ 499 Kb |
author: Stephen C. Ferguson
Home page: http://www.eclectasy.com/Iterations-et-Flarium24/
As Cold_IFS, Root-IFS plots orbit trajectories using an IFS based formula. The images it produces are usually associated with flame fractals in other fractal generating programs. Pictures can be saved in several different formats; unlike its predecessor it saves parameter values to a file. Also features a button to generate pictures randomly. Compressed (ZIP) file includes source code.

Salomo ~ v2.0 ~ Win9x/Me ~ 886 Kb |
author: Niko Wilbert
Home page: http://www.nikowilbert.de/privat/fraktal/salomo/
Salomo is a simple tool to explore fractals of the Mandelbrot and Julia sets. It's pretty intuitive to use, since a window will pop-up whenever you have to make any input. Basic parameters and coloring can be modified with ease. Very nice.

Set Surfer ~ v1.0 ~ Win9x/Me
~ 84.3 Kb |
author: Jason
Letbetter
Home page: http://www.flash.net/~redbeard/ [offline]
Set Surfer is a small fractal generator that can calculate Mandelbrot and Julia
sets fractals. Its interface is pretty simple, and will look familiar to those
of you that use Tiera-Zon or InkBlot Kaos.

Spectral Strange Attractor Chaos Engine ~ Win9x/Me/NT ~ 303 Kb |
author: Steve Giannoni
Home page: http://www.homestead.com/giannoni/sa18.html
This one will plot rainbow-colorful spectral strange attractors. It is supposed to save images, but I haven't been able to do so. As a bonus it comes with a screen saver that also plots attractors on your screen.

Sterling-ware ~ v1.7 ~ Win9x/Me/NT ~ 654 Kb |
author: Stephen C. Ferguson
Home page: http://www.eclectasy.com/Iterations-et-Flarium24/
Point-and-click zooming at an incredible speed. This new version includes sine trap functions, Lyapunov exponents, orbit counting, the Triangle Inequality Variation by Damien M. Jones, and “LDerivatives.” Version 1.7 adds some extra new formulas. For those of you curious enough, all past versions of Sterling-ware are available with source code from Iterations et Flarium 24 web site. Source code available.

The Talis Project ~ v3.6 ~ DOS ~ 236 Kb |
author: Stephen C. Ferguson
Home page: http://www.eclectasy.com/Iterations-et-Flarium24/
This is a simple fractal generating program for DOS, but can be use in other MS Windows version with no problem. It also works very similar to other Ferguson's generators.

Tiera-Zon ~ v2.9 ~ Win-XP ~ 154 Kb |
author: Stephen C. Ferguson
Home page: http://home.houston.rr.com/fergusonsc/
Tiera-Zon combines great features with great speed. Highly recommended for computers with slow processors. It comes with new coloring methods, so users of previous versions will need to keep those in order to reproduce earlier images. Versions 2.8, 2.7, 1.0, and 0.7 are still available from Iterations-et-Flarium24. Tends to crash on Windows XP if user changes parameters too fast. Source code also available.
