The Electric Sheep is an "Internet-based" screensaver that connects with other computers over the Internet to share, compute, and morph abstract animations. Users can also vote for the pictures they see displayed on their screens, and add their own sheep to "gene pool". The source code is licensed under the GPL.

FracSaver is a cool Windows screen saver that uses real-time fractal image generation to produce interesting animations. There are several options to configure the display settings, including resolution. It takes advantage of 3DNow! Technology, but works fine even in Celeron machines. A Pentium-class CPU is also recommended for better performance. Direct download from fractovia.org (see link below).

IFS4 generates some beautiful and colorful fractal images (comes with several schemes). It can work as a regular fractal generator (see the above section) because you can use the PRINTSCREEN key (or other hotkey) to copy an image to the clipboard and past into a graphics editor. Password protection capable.
