Accenture, a renowned professional services provider, has reportedly launched a new platform for fired employees to seek new jobs across various industries in India. The unemployment rate in India has surged to 23 percent as per the stats reported in March and is set to further increase in the coming time due to the nationwide lockdown amid the growing infections of COVID-19.

Accenture along with ServiceNow, Lincoln Financial Group, and Verizon has designed a new, innovative AI platform named People+ Work Connect to help all those fired employees find new jobs. This initiative, piloted by the CHROs (Chief Human Resource Officer) of the four firms, was rolled out to facilitate an employer-to-employer online network. These connections would further help the companies to get in touch with the employees who have been fired and need a job as soon as possible.

The AI platform which is free for employers would very soon include private and public jobs and reduce the lengthy procedures of employment.

Ellyn Shook, Chief Leadership and Human Resource Officer, Accenture, stated that by offering real-time visibility as to which organizations require employees and where the new AI platform is built to reduce the societal and economic impacts of COVID-19 and further help various companies find employees and make a considerable difference in the lives of people in need of a job.

The People+ Work Connect platform is business to business platform that helps the companies share information regarding the experiences, skills and work profiles of the employees that were laid off, which would further help them to find people suitable for specific jobs.

Chief Talent Officer, ServiceNow, Pat Wadors stated that the coronavirus crisis has resulted in a massive lay off of employees across many companies which, increasing the number of people that need help finding new jobs.

Wadors further added that by linking the firms that are employing people who are available and possess the necessary skills, this technology is playing a massive role in catering to people in need.
