CareerLabs secures USD 2.2 million during pre-Series A funding round

Bengaluru-based profile building platform for college students and working professionals, CareerLabs, has reportedly raised USD 2.2 million in a pre-series A funding round as it seeks to scale its platform and launch a new product.

The latest funding was led by Rocket Internet’s VC, Global Founders Capital, and saw participation from Ajit Isaac, QuessCorp’s Founder Chairman; Toshan Tamhane, Chief Digital Officer at UPL, Rohit Kale, MD Spencer Stuart, Abhishek Nag, Business Development - India and South Asia, Netflix, and Ghanshyam Das, former MD – Asia Pacific and Middle East, Nasdaq, among others.

Co-founder and CEO of CarrerLabs, PN Santosh, on the matter, expressed that the vision of ‘Make in India’ leading to Aatmanirbhar Bharat can be truly realized if India leverages its economic potential mainly in relation to the working-age population.

With the platform, the organization intends to bridge the supply-dean gap and empower one million students to learn and earn better by offering everyone a chance to obtain a successful career and subsequently build a motivated workforce, he added.

He further went on to say that they are investing in developing the right machine learning models with emphasis on identifying the right career paths for students and integrating the right engagement activities that result in fruitful outcomes for students.

It to be noted that the startup claims to offer a technology-driven platform, Career Wizard, a unique ‘career track’ recommendation engine, which helps the platform deliver suitable industry-recognized courses and certifications for upskilling students and young professionals.

The skill building solutions are carefully designed at 70% lower cost than alternatives. The process comprises of an all-inclusive planned journey including detailed profile assessment, personalized mentoring, and recruitment assistance, enabling students in Tier-II and Tier-III cities to also access the quality content and services, cited credible sources.

The organization plans to induct over 600,000 from 1000 colleges and help them discover their dream careers with the help of its AI powered career discovery engine, CareerWizard, cited sources close to the subject.
