In an effort to strengthen its business across the Indian and Australian markets, Cognizant has reportedly announced its acquisition of SaaSfocus, a Salesforce consulting service provider based out of Noida. According to Jayajyoti Sengupta, Cognizant Head (Asia Pacific), SaaSfocus’s Salesforce consultants based in Australia and India will join the IT major.

Apparently, the acquisition would bring in numerous benefits for Cognizant, given that it would commendably improve its end-to-end digital transformation services in addition to enhancing Salesforce’s cloud capabilities in the region.

According to an article by the Times of India, out of the 350 Salesforce consultants, 280 are based in India and the rest in Australia. Cognizant regards SaaSfocus as a platinum partner of Salesforce as it is one of the highest rated partners of the $10 billion company.

Cognizant is the perfect fit, considering its digital expertise, unique culture of innovation, and global delivery footprint, Amit Choudhary, CEO, SaaSfocus Australia & New Zealand, told TOI. Merging its capabilities with SaaSfocus’s Salesforce consulting expertise will fast-track clients’ digital transformation and generate global opportunities for the employees, he added.

Influenced by SaaSfocus’s acquisition, other IT multinationals are considering acquisitions as a method to achieve innovative technology capabilities. Consequently, Wipro raised $500 to acquire Appirio, a company that works on cloud applications of software magnates. Similarly, Infosys acquired Noah Consulting LLC in an all-cash deal of $70 million.

For the uninitiated, SaaSFocus, is a privately held firm founded by Amit Choudhary and co-founders Jaideep Kumar and Sumit Pachnanda, in the year 2009. The company is highly renowned for offering digital transformation services based on the Salesforce platform and is viewed as one of Asia-Pacific’s largest independently owned Salesforce consulting partners. Its profound list of clients includes Baxter, Holcim, and Audi for whom it has delivered over 1,500 salesforce projects.
