Leading electric vehicle charging and smart energy management platform Driivz announced a partnership with the world’s global eRoaming provider Hubject to provide a seamless experience of Plug & Charge EV experience based on ISO 15118.

The collaboration comes after European EV charging company Mer, which provides innovative and sustainable solutions, recently selected Driivz to power its EV charging infrastructure worldwide and will be the first one to be benefited from this partnership.

Hubject will act as the Certificate Authority for providing public/private key pairs to safeguard and authenticate the digital communication fundamental to instant authorization, payment, and charging transactions.

The EV charging platform of Driivz is qualified to support ISO 15118. It is an international standard that specifies the communications protocol between the electric vehicle and the charging station.

The protocol allows Plug & Charge after the driver plugs the vehicle into the charging outlet. Then, using the ISO 15118 interface, the EV provides identification to the charging station which then grants it instant authorization and the initiation of charging.

The process enables drivers to charge their EVs without any need to tap a touchscreen or swipe a credit card. This easier and seamless charging experience is important for the industry to become a mass market.

Driivz’s compliant EV charging management solution ensures that Mer and other clients can deliver a smart and seamless charging experience with a secure mechanism between vehicle and charging infrastructure.

The founder and CEO of Driivz, Doron Frenkel, stated that by adhering to ISO 15118, eMobility service providers can build their networks ahead of time for smoother & seamless experiences for their customers while guaranteeing optimized energy management, operational excellence, and stronger security.

Headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, Driivz's platform manages EV chargers in North America, Europe, and APAC that are used by more than 800,000 EV drivers. It currently serves customers in over 20 countries across, including major players like Volvo Group, EVgo, ElaadNL, Gilbarco Veeder-Root, ESB, and Centrica.
