Owing to the ongoing digital transformation of several companies across the world, demand for data centers, both in terms of overall numbers and capacity, is expected to witness substantial growth over the forthcoming years. As demand for data centers goes up, it is also fueling the rise in data center cooling equipment sales, primarily from service providers who are striving to maintain an optimum operating temperature in their data centers.
GRC (Green Revolution Cooling), a US based provider of liquid immersion cooling solutions for data centers, reportedly announced its collaboration with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), a renowned American enterprise information technology firm headquartered in San Jose, California, through an OEM agreement to combine its ICEraQ™ liquid immersion cooling system with the servers of HPE for consumers to get alternative cooling abilities in a flexible and pre-packaged offering.
Chief Revenue Officer at GRC, Jim Weynand stated that the company is thrilled to see the value this collaboration provides to data centers across the world.
Weynand added that this product bundle would enable customers to easily integrate high density equipment from HPE in any current data center without having to add the normal expense and time of altering the infrastructure of the legacy data center to accommodate the latest applications platforms.
Leveraging immersion cooling of GRC, consumers who were earlier limited by space, cooling or power, would have the ability to seamlessly roll-out high-performing servers of HPE, virtually at any place.
Solutions Architect at GRC, Brandon Moore stated that the flexibility and ease offered by immersion is unparalleled, user can easily support high-density HPE equipment using a GRC system like the ICEraQ Micro. which is capable of handling more than 2000 watts of heat load per U rack space, allowing creation of a greater-density zone within an existing data center while eliminating thermal constraints which exist in legacy data centers that are air cooled.
Vice President and General Manager for Worldwide OEM at HPE, Phillip Cutrone stated that there is an increasing opportunity for bringing latest technology abilities to market to help emerging applications like AI as well as edge computing.
Cutrone added that through this GRC collaboration, to integrate GRC’s ICEraQ™ with HPE’s high-performance, agile infrastructure solutions, the company is providing its customers with flexible system cooling options.
