MariMed expands its presence by signing a licensing deal with Tropizen

Marijuana has always been classified as a Schedule I drug in the U.S., putting it in the same category as ecstasy, heroin and LSD, with an argument that it is a substance that can be abused and lacks medical value.

But recent reports have revealed that Cannabis contains many medicinal properties and does not create a physical dependency, unlike tobacco and antidepressant addiction. These reports have influenced many countries to legalize Cannabis for clinical use.

Talking on medical marijuana, MariMed Inc., a leading hemp and cannabis multi-state operator, has positioned itself as one of the best suppliers that focuses on health and wellness and has made a massive contribution in the cannabis market.

Reportedly, in a move to develop its presence, it recently inked a definitive agreement to license its top-selling products and brands, Kalm Fusion™ and Betty’s Eddies™, to Puerto Rico-based medical cannabis producer Tropizen.

According to sources, MariMed will become a licensee to distribute and manufacture Tropizen’s exclusive tropical items, Real Fruit Gummies and Pique hot sauce in all the six American states that MariMed serves in. Meanwhile, both the firms are in the end-stage of reviewing production requirements, after which it can move on to set launch dates for their items according to territories.

For the record, Tropizen is one of the best manufacturers, cultivators, retailers and distributors of cannabis goods in Puerto Rico and is spread across all the island’s 100 dispensaries that offer world-class edibles, flower, concentrates and topical products.

As per reports, Puerto Rico’s medical market has witnessed a dynamic growth, with the recent data from the nation’s government showing that the count of registered medical patients has exceeded by 3% and has seen over 15,000 new registered patients this year.

Bob Fireman, CEO, MariMed, claims that their company’s product division plans to expand the distribution of its cannabis brands to every state that has legalized cannabis, which would further ensure the progress of MariMed’s strategy to focus on effective branded products which offer quality benefits to patients and consumers.
