Paramount+ to launch in India next year through Viacom18 partnership

Paramount+, the global streaming platform of Paramount Global, will reportedly launch in India next year through a partnership with Indian production company Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd.

Paramount President and CEO Bob Bakish outlined the global expansion plans for the streaming platform during his announcement of the Q1 Earnings Report.

Paramount+ will also be unveiled in South Korea in June as well as in Germany, Italy, France, Austria, and Switzerland in the latter half of this year.

Raffaele Annecchino, the President and Chief Executive Officer of International Networks, Studios, and Streaming at Paramount Global stated that Paramount+ has added that this year will mark a milestone given that the company has been accelerating its global ambitions and this year will be crucial for its streaming strategy.

Paramount+ includes the likes of new seasons of the "Yellowstone" series, the "Star Trek" universe, the "MTV Shores" franchise, "South Park" as well as shows like "PAW Patrol", "Rugrats", and "SpongeBob SquarePants" among other forthcoming projects.

The service will be available across various platforms and devices, including tablets and mobile phones, Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast, Apple TV Channels, Samsung TV, Roku, mobile web, or desktop computers.

Globally, Paramount+ features a broad list of original series, popular movies, and hit shows across every genre from renowned production studios and brands, including BET, SHOWTIME, Comedy Central, CBS, Nickelodeon, MTV, Smithsonian Channel, and Paramount Pictures.

Currently, the streaming service is live in Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, Latin America, Australia, and the Nordics.
