DroneShield, an Australian Securities Exchange-listed drone detection and disruption technology provider, has apparently announced to have joined hands with Intelligent Security Integration (ISI), a security and surveillance equipment provider based out of Melbourne. According to trusted sources, the collaboration aims to develop the latest version of a vehicle equipped with an integrated drone detection and disruption solution.

The vehicle, dubbed as the Rapid Scout HQ vehicle and its related Rapid Scout surveillance sensors can be deployed in areas where conventional CCTV cameras possess limited or no coverage. This is achieved by mounting a sophisticated CCTV platform up on the roof of the vehicle which offers 360-degree visibility for a distance of about 5 kilometers, cite sources.

As per the terms of the partnership, DroneShield will integrate a counter-drone module consisting of its RadarZero, a portable drone detection radar, RF direction finder & drone detector, RfOne and probably its DroneCannon, a counter drone jammer into the Rapid Scout HQ’s next version.

Speaking on the development, Chief Executive Officer of DroneShield, Oleg Vornik was quoted stated that the new partnership enables the firm to enter the domain of vehicle-based security, law-enforcement, and military market through a proven vehicle platform provided by ISI. He further commented that there is a notable interest in the market for on-vehicle drone-countering products, which Rapid Scout would be able to meet through DroneShield’s capabilities.

Reportedly, Rapid Scout HQ will be the first-of-its-kind non-military vehicle in the world equipped with a collection of drone multisensory detection and defeat solutions.

Expressing the firm’s enthusiasm regarding the partnership, Managing Director of ISI, Stephen Bell was quoted stating that the vehicle-based surveillance abilities of the firm, paired with DroneShield’s leadership in counter-drone domain, will allow the upcoming vehicle to satisfy customer requirements.

The new version of the vehicle is anticipated to be launched in September at the Land Forces 2018 event in Adelaide – a major international defense exhibition held in Australia.
