Top companies in South Korea have reportedly joined forces to boost Busan's bid to host the 2030 World Expo.

The Bureau International des Exposition (BIE), a global organization with 170 member states that oversee the holding of world expos, received Busan's official bid to host the event in 2030. Riyadh, Rome, and Odesa in Ukraine have all submitted proposals to host the occasion.

As per the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), which is acting as the nongovernmental bidding committee's secretariat, Samsung, Hyundai Motor, SK, LG, as well as other global corporations have confirmed to mobilize public support for Busan's proposal until the third competitor presentation in late November at the BIE general assembly, to be held in Paris.

Samsung has begun advertising Busan's expo bid through the giant outdoor electronic billboard at the K-POP Square in Gangnam-gu, Samseong-dong, and Galaxy experience zones across the nation. Along with massive banners at the stadiums, the firm's pro baseball team Samsung Lions, and the soccer team Suwon Blue Wings both wear phrases supporting Busan's bid on their uniforms.

SK is projecting words of encouragement on the headquarters of SK Telecom located in Seoul's Eulji-ro, Jung-gu, for five minutes each hour. The logo and the messages are also included in SK Telecom's advertisement for its ringtone service.

Hyundai Motor is backing Busan's candidacy through its global social media platforms and wants to include corresponding statements on the uniforms and stadiums of Kia Tigers and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.

Gimpo Airport, Incheon Airport Railroad Express, and Gimhae Airport all have digital screens playing LG promotional videos. Around 1,800 LG Electronics, LG Household, LG Uplus, and Health Care stores across the country will also advertise Busan's expo bid.

Additionally, Hanwha, Lotte, Posco, GS, Shinsegae, and Hyundai Heavy Industries intend to promote the expo bid.

The KCCI announced that it will create a new slogan with the government-backed bidding committee and assist businesses in using a unified message and design for the expo bid.
